Project case study
Marvel Loch scats crushing.
15,000 tonnes of steel-contaminated scats material processed at a Marvel Loch gold operation. Slow, demanding work, commercially valuable to the client.
Project overview
Steel-contaminated scats material crushing for high-grade gold recovery. Scats material at a gold operation typically carries broken liner, ground-engaging tools, and the odd buried fragment. Slow to crush, hard on equipment, and commercially valuable to the client because of the gold grade carried in the scats stream. Predecessor to the current scats and contaminated ore campaign at the same site.
Scope of works
- Mobilisation of crushing plant to a Marvel Loch site, Yilgarn
- Steel-handling provisions in the primary circuit
- Slow-rate crushing of contaminated scats material
- Recovery-focused product output for the client mill
- Increased-frequency maintenance windows to manage equipment wear
Outcomes
- 15,000 tonnes of scats material processed for the client recovery stream
- Steel-contamination handling experience built into Elite's operating playbook
- Site relationship deepened ahead of the larger Marvel Loch ROM and Scrat campaigns
